McGeet's Drawings

Post  McGeets on Wed Dec 26, 2012 11:22 am

Okay - so I'm gunna go ahead and make this thread, because I suck at drawing the Penguins, I intend to do MANY more drawings until they actually look okay.
This first one is not actually a Penguin. Believe it or not, it started as a drawing of Skipper, but it looked more like a human so I tried to humanize Skipper, and then that was the worst drawing I ever produced to I tried again and tried to draw Marlene, but AGAIN it looked too human, so I tried to humanize Marlene, and then it looked nothing like Marlene so I'm going to pretend it's Liz humanized...but I doesn't really look like her either....I promise to post penguins not just people!
In short - this is some random picture that may or may not be a humanized PoM character. Who's to tell? (I know the feet and face are stupid, no need to point that out!)

Hey people Smile
Two for this one...well one and a half.
Firstly - I just looked at my last post and at least for me half of it's cut off. If that's the case for you here's the link:

Now - Here's a Penguin as promised! It's Skipper! It might just be my eyes or whatever but to me he looks younger, not loads just a few years...

I draw a lot in the holidays, so there will be a quite a few posts. I'll only post my Penguins stuff now though, and I'm on a figure-drawing high recently.
Here's Kowalski Very Happy excuse the eyebrow, I have no idea what happened there. Any advice/helpful criticism is welcome! (Also - tell me if these links/spoliers actually work, they do on mine but I don't know if it's different for different computers or what. I'm not technological.)

Aw! Thank you so much! Very Happy
Art is both my favorite subject and one of my favorite hobbies, so I get a fair bit of practice. Especially with People because that's all they ever get us to draw at school... I tried to draw actual Marlene this morning, but it failed. Probably because it was about 12:30 AM, and I was really tired. I'll try again later and if it's any better I'll post it.

I didn't actually do much drawing today and of what I did most of it was complete rubbish, so Baby Kowalski is the only thing I will be posting today...probably.

Apparently I was wrong when I said that would be the only photo I would upload today. I drew this one because I was watching "What goes around" and I wanted to get a drink so I paused it and when I got back it was paused on the bit where Kowalski falls in love with the van. It was amusing to say the least, so I drew it. Apologies for the mucked up shading in some places, but I can't seem to get it quite right.

Re: McGeet's Drawings

Okay - so these are two more OCs. Sorry for not actually posting anything from the Penguins of Madagascar today...
The idea behind these two is that the Spider Monkeys haven't actually been seen - and Kowalski said "Bedlam is their middle name" in Needle Point.
They're based on Harleen Quinzel (Harley Quinn) and Pamela Isley (Poison Ivy) form Batman. I haven't actually thought of names for them yet, but I'll refer to them as the names used in Batman.
Harley Quinn could be an Arch Enemy for Rico, as she is PSYCHOTIC: Just like him, and also evil.
Poison Ivy would be Kowalski's Arch, as she would use biological warfare (ie: poison) she makes from plants to try and thwart the Penguins.
Haven't come up with more of a back-story than that yet, but I'll post it if I do. Smile

I've been UBER busy with homework - apparently my school have decided to start piling on the work NOW even though we don't take our GCSEs until year 11, so I haven't done any penguins related drawing in forever...so this is just a very quick doodle:

Aha thank you! I don't really count them as my first drawings because each one took about thirty seconds and were ridiculously bad, but my first 'drawings' of them were on the inside cover of my maths book - which I then took off and kept in my room. (Although I might have lost it when I moved rooms...haven't really sorted anything out yet) I had to invest in a new book, turns out the covers are important for keeping the book together and neat! Who knew? Not me.
Which character(s) did you draw? Weird how we both drew on books Razz

Holaaa~
Wow, your drawings are just... wow. I've never had the time to actually colour my own sketches before... My colour pencils think it's funny to pretend they're single missing socks. :/
Just to add on to the conversation on drawing on the backs of school books... I started off my own POM doodles on the back of my Chinese textbook, then they appeared as part of my school logo on my writing pad cover, and now they're all contailed inside lots of little pink Post-its in most of my textbooks. My 231-page 'O' Level Physics textbook especially have a lot of Kowalski Post-it sketches, heh heh. It suits him. Razz

Thank you! I do try xD I'm not a huge fan of color, as whenever I color something in I completely ruin it. The main reason I will NEVER use my PoM coloring book. I like to shade things with pencil though. My maths book is the only book I draw PoM on because my other teachers do not approve, but my maths teacher has yet to even LOOK at our work this year, so I think I'm pretty safe. Whenever I mark my work I do a little Skipper drawing giving a comment on it.
My personal favorite is him face flippering saying "You were supposed to leave the answers in terms of Pi, Zyta." after I successfully got question 1 part a-i wrong for not doing that. Bit of a fail on my behalf.

Hey Very Happy
Just a couple of drawings I did last night. First off, we have Mort. I'll try and do a full body one next weekend/in half term.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
And secondly here's a Kowalski sketch. Excuse the poor quailty of his head. Turns out I can't draw heads on small scale. Why must they be so complicated?! Anyway, I did a larger one next to it, so use your imagination to shrink it and put it on the full body sketch. I admit he looks kinda bored. Kinda really bored. But oh well.
